Black Horse Cottage is a classic
''chocolate box'' thatched cottage
surrounded by 2½ acres of landscaped garden and situated in the centre
of the small Broads village of Hickling.
Three comfortable bedrooms, two rooms with double beds and one with
a single bed, are located on the first floor along with a private bath
/
shower room.
Breakfast is whatever our guests would like, from the full English to
the
more healthy fruit, cereals and homemade bread. The
Greyhound pub
next door has an excellent restaurant for lunches and evening meals.
There is plenty to occupy our guests in the area. Hickling Broad is a
few
minutes walk down the lane. A variety of boats (cruisers, yachts and day
boats) can be hired at the staithe as well as bicycles. The Broad is an
ideal spot for fishing and bird watching. The Hickling Broad Nature
Reserve and its very helpful visitor centre has several board walks which
have been laid out among the reed beds, ideal for bird watchers and
naturalists.
Sandy beaches along the coast at Sea Palling and Waxham are just a
couple of miles drive away. The cathedral city of Norwich is 18 miles
away and the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth is just over 12 miles.
